The Ultralight Adaptable Night Vision Monocular, also known as the Tanto, is a cornerstone of our adaptable night vision series. In its monocular configuration, the Tanto shares the PVS-14 J-arm footprint but is substantially lighter. The innovative design allows users to transform their monocular into a binocular in seconds by simply removing the battery cap and battery, inserting the proprietary TAB (Tanto Articulating Bridge) “Daisho” into the battery compartment, and tightening the rear clamp screws. This enables shared battery use for both tubes and includes built-in IP stops, similar to the UANVB “Katana.”

The unit's lightweight, minimalist design includes a push button on/off feature in the cap to reduce complexity and weight. When assembled with the TAB “Daisho” bridge, additional features such as side articulation for single or dual-eye use are enabled. This articulating design allows users to operate vehicles without compromising head space, as the pods can articulate to the side, eliminating the need to stow them upright or tuck them against the helmet when not in use.

Rugged and durable, the Tanto has passed the NATO 1.5-meter drop test onto concrete and meets or exceeds MIL-STD-810G standards. It's also versatile, allowing users to transform it from a binocular back to a monocular for shared use with partners.
